Are you talking about half shafts or the differential. Sounds like you are talking about replacing the half shafts with the cv joints on them. They wouldn't be leaking anything but possibly grease at the cv joint.
I have a complete 3.73 differential sitting in the garage. 55K miles on it, but it would be cheaper to just replace a seal in yours.

In my original post I show my complete ignorance of this situation, highlighted above in bold letters.......Upon closer inspection, billions of dollars spent and countless man hours it has been determined by me that the vent for the front axle was leaking, I apparently overfilled it. I am retarded, that is all. Ron
