I took this pic with my cell phone earlier, so it isn't the best. I left it at my house, and I am staying at my gf's house tonight so I can't get a better pic till tomorrow.

I broke a 60e pump rotor when I had to pull the engine with the torque converter still attached to the flexplate....

Well I started pulling the internals apart. It appears the thrust washer at the rear planetary is what caused the debris. I assume it was like this when I bought it. The rear planetary is blued, so it must have gotten pretty hot sometime. Still trying to figure what I should do at this point. Man that was an expensive couple of hundred miles. I don't know if I like building up trucks anymore. I have yet to even drive it one single fun mile yet.

If anyone was wondering, I have located the problem. My rear planetary went bad, and took out the thrust washer causing the debris. I rebuilt the tranny with new clutches, seals, bushings, gasket, and with a good planetary. The converter was cleaned, and Performabuilt said there were no problems with it. Hopefully I will get it all in tomorrow.

I drove the truck a little, and it was making some noise last night. I popped it in neutral and shut the engine off coasting down the road. The noise was still there, and changed when I hit the brakes. I was thinking it was the yoke in the tranny. I assumed it was making noise because the yoke was too far in the tranny, possible causing my original problem that took out the planetary. It looked too close to me, so I called Denny's this morning. Denny's said if I could get the shaft in, then there would be enough room. I told him I could barely get the shaft in when the suspension was hanging on the lift, and I assumed it got tighter when on the ground. He said it wouldn't get tighter. Does this look too tight?

I have never seen one that tight that wasn't having a problem. The driveshaft sliding out with the suspension hanging all depends on the design of the suspension. In a leaf spring truck, I would think it would be further away during droop.

I would say that its too long. You should have no problem putting the shaft in even when the full weight of the truck is on the suspension. Not in the air with the suspension at fully relaxed
