I found a 1999 4l80e 4x4 trans
Should i get it?
How hard is it to adapt a 4x4 trans to a 2wd
Is a 99 a good year? Thanks guys

I would guess all you would have to do is swap out the tail shaft housing from a 2wd but im not 100% sure maybe some one else will chime in.

Its an output shaft also, which requires a tear down. Not worth it IMO, just find a 2wd.

definitely not worth it, the 2wd's are a dime a dozen. well, not really, but they are relative to the 4wd 80e's. I would look for something from 04 or newer

In addition to what was said above about converting one of these units you will need to add the lube orifice to the back of the case and also make sure you have a rear planet with the VSS ring on it. If you end up getting the trans I have a nice 2wd output shaft id swap you for the 4wd.
