I need to start saving for slicks, what do you recommend?

i wouldnt go any bigger than 28.5 in. or so. What size wheel are you planning on giong with?

probably a 16x10 or 16x12.

ya that sounds good. You really dont need anything that high as i said, but wider will suit you better. Post up a pic of what you end up getting

I'm also looking at tire height, for a couple of reasons, first, my truck is tall and they would fit, so why not go with the extra rubber; second, a taller tire would be the same thing or better than a wider tire.

no, you shouldn't loose a few tenths and some mph. you gain everything on the 60' and midrange with my set up anyways. i'm sure it's different for f/i guys. i cross the traps in 3rd @ 5800 doing almost 100. that's with 4.10's and 26x11.5x16 street et's

I'm just barely shifting into third when I cross, if I had a larger tire I just might go through the traps in second gear, hmmmm.

You want to be going through the traps right at the peak of your power. I go through at the very top of 3rd gear and thats where I make my power. I thing that if you go through in 2nd gear that you will be missing out on alot of power in 3rd gear. what do you ahve for gears ?????
