I need to start saving for slicks, what do you recommend?

most likely a 16x10 to a 16x12 wheel(somewhere in that range), I'll have to get them custom made since most 16" wheels for an 8lug are setup for an offroad backspacing. I currently run 32" street tires(305/50-20), 10"wide.

what do ya think?

I think the M&H 30/14/16" dot cheater slick on a 16x10 with a custom backspacing around 6" would be just about right.
You dont want a small tire out back with a tall front. If you have a slight rake at the rear that size would level the truck out just about where you want to be. I hate my offroad backspacing 4.5" on a 16x10 they stick out 1.5" outside of the bed.It leaves a lot of tire rubber and rock chips from the track days. but did not want to wait 1-2 months for custom wheels.
Just make sure you can clear 16's on your brakes.Dont know if your brakes are bigger than a 1/2 ton?

i run a 26" tall street et. with the idea of having more gear on the take off.
i already have 4.10's and the short tire makes it launch even harder.

hmm, a 30/14.00-16, that sounds pretty good, think that will be enough tire?

should I be going with a wider shorter tire or a taller narrower tire?

Or if you think the M&H 30X14.5X16 is not enough tire... Hoosier 35.00X22.00X16

True... but wouldn't you lose a few tenths and some mph on the high end and maybe even run into OD?

Grippy~ With the power that you are going to make I think that 30x14x16 will be more than enough. I think his name is BADDMAX or something like that. He runs slicks on his HD and he hooks. Check with him on what he runs on his HD.

we have talked quite a bit, thanks for the info. I recently spent about 30min on the phone with M&H's engineer discussing what tire would be best for my application
