Howdy! Just wanted to see with everything stock on my pickup, how many Wide Open runs can i do per tank of gas, or total, on the 4L-80E before i have problems with it slipping and/or going out? Thanx, i like to do about 3 to 5 per tank of gas but i didn't know if the badass tranny could handle it.

 

do as many as u want, that tranny will hold up to alot more than your setup will put out

oh ya man.. dont worry about a thing. If you look around a little.. theres a guy on here, Parish8, hes running in the mid 10's in the 1/4 mile and he has a built 408 with turbo and all sorts of goodies... hes running the 4l80e... of course his tranny is also built up... but the 4l80e is almost indestruckable

 

With a 4L80 I think you could go at WOT, towing a 5000 pound trailer, up a mountain.
