Here are some pictures of the truck after the torsion bar lift. I can't tell the difference in the ride quality. Hope this helps.

Had the alignment done today. The camber was off on the right and left by 0.7 and 0.4 degrees, respectively. So, apparently, it is not entirly necessary to have alignment done with a torsion bar lift (at least in my case).

 

If I put the Ford Keys in will it be less stress on the suspension in the long run?

 

No, they lift the truck in the exact same way. The Ford keys might give you more lift though.

 

I added Ford keys to my '03 around a year ago and really like them. In fact, I had an alignment guy install them and level the truck (friend of mine owns the shop). He told me he lifted it ~1 1/2" and ha 1 1/2" - 2" left if I wanted to lift more. I am thinking now of going to a 3" block in the rear (factory is 2") and turning up the bars a little more to level the truck. I may then go with a 3" body lift to clear the rims / tires I want.

 

Is there another way to level the truck that would cause less strees to the front suspension. I am just worried that I will screw up the suspension on my $40,000 truck. That would totally blow!

 

Suspension lift is the only real way, if I am not mistaken. I think Rancho and some others make specific leveling lifts for the GM truck line. Someone jump in here if there's a cheaper way.
