Default How to disable traction control

My 01 has traction control with a DBW throttle. I would like to disable the traction control all together. The button or switch on the dash resets to ON every time the truck starts up, so I would like to reverse that operation. I think SLP made something for the F-body that did this. Does anyone know how the traction control system operates and have any suggestions for defeating it?

I was told a long time ago that there's a procedure to disengage it. They said it was in the owner's manual, I think. I never did this to mine, but will try and find the post.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll look for my owners manual, I don't remember if I got one when I purchased the truck.

Procedure in owner's manual:

1. Park the vehicle with the ignition off and the transmission in PARK.

2. Turn the ignition to RUN; do not start the engine.

3. Apply the brake pedal, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and then press the TAS on/off button and hold it down for at least six seconds.

4. Release the TAS button and both pedals.

5. Turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds.

The next time you start the vehicle, the TAS will not automatically come on. You can restore the automatic feature by using the same procedure.
