helper bags for lowered NNBS
#1
ok guys i have a 08 RCSB, i lowered it 4/7 and put a set of 22'' kmc slides with 305-40-22 tires on it. My problem is that when i hit a big bump my tires hit my bed and it dimpled in both sides of my bed and had to have a PDR guy fix it for 200 bucks, well i have my stocks on now for the winter and id like to get some sort of bags on it so it cant smack my bed when i put the 22''s back on this spring, do you guys have any suggestions on this or maybe where you guys buy helper bags for a decent price
thanks ivan

I just sold my helper bags last weekend.
If you don't mind drilling into your frame then there are plenty of bag kits within the 200-300 range. But the mcguaphys helper bag kit is the only one I know that has a bracket that bolts round your frame. But they are pricey, almost 375 or so.
The helper bags help with the bottoming out. They will lift it quite a bit with about 30 psi.
I eventually did a cnotch along with my helper bags. The cnotch helped a lot.

Particular reason you sold yours javzh?
OP, I have the same size drop and tires. I think mine looks slightly lower, but looks can be deceiving. I can see rub marks on the inside of my fender, but I have a bed rug so who knows what it looks like in there. I've been lowered almost 50,000 miles now, so I'm sure the tires and fenders have had their fair share of encounters.

In the picture its only a 4/6 drop that's why urs looks lower, I went ahead and put my stock shackles back on so now I'm down to the 4/7 and that's when the tires hit my bed and left dimples, my truck is also black so u can see every problem so easy lol. Damn missouri roads

They ones I sold were the original design with a wider bracket. So when I went from a 7" drop to 9" I needed a cnotch. With the wider bracket a bolt in notch wouldn't fit. So I got a new set with a smaller bracket and shorter bags too. So now it's notched and has helper bags.

I'd spend the dough on the MCG helper bags, they're super easy to install and well made, fit perfect IMO. I've had them on both of my '08's at 4/7 and 4/6. Towing is still a little dicey, the axle is so close to the frame even with air in the bags it can bottom out depending on your tongue weight but makes it much more bearable.
