Default Help Spend Dad’s $$! Lowering 95 1500!!

Help me spend m dad’s money. He has a 95 1500 GMC RCSB 2wd. It needs to be lower. It has a 2” shackle drop on it now, but he wants it lower. Not just for looks, but for handling too! He loves the way my 2002 sits and drives with the Hotschkis 2/4 drop w/ the sway bars and Edelbock IAS shocks. What kit should he buy? He also does not want to spend a lot of $$ on this set up either.

DJM
3”/4” Quick Drop
3”Coils/2”Shackles/2”Hangers
Edelbock IAS shocks on all 4

DJM
3”/4” Pro Drop
3”Control Arms/2”Shackles/2”Hangers
Edelbock IAS shock on all 4
**Never done a control arm swap?!**

Belltech
3”/4”
3”Coils/2”Shackles/2”Hangers
Comes w/ Belltech Nitro Active Shocks

Call Hotschkis and see if my have a 2”/4” drop w/ Sway bars
Edelbock IAS shocks on all 4
**I could not find a complete kit for a RCSB on their website?!**

Build my own kit?
Use Belltech parts
Should I go 2” or 3” Coils
Should I go with a shackle & hanger kit or leaf springs?

Who all makes sway bars for a 2” or 3”/4” drop for this truck?
**Having trouble finding kits!?**

Any one have any pictures or experience with these setups on there 88 – 98 GMC/Chevy RCSBs?

We are also going to do a brake job with stainless steel brake lines. Possibly a cowl hood new grill and the LED line of fire brake light.

Ok, Hotchkis discontinued their 88-98 Truck parts...I have a set of coils that I was going to use on mine, but they have never been use. As for the rear I would try and find a set of leafs...I dunno if they are still out there...If he already has shakles I would just get hangers, and springs...I will give you a deal on my springs if my dad doesnt want them for his 454SS

Was there something wrong with their kits or did they run out of demand for them?

I can't believe that Hotchkis discountinued their 88-98 stuff. That kit was awesome, it had coils, leafs, billet tie-rod ends, front and rear sway bars and a panhard rod. I wanted that setup so badly for my 95 Chevy, but ended up going with BellTech 2" spindles and a 4" hanger/shakle kit with Bilstein shocks, and Helwig front and rear sway bars. It handled pretty well for stock springs.

This is what I have some up with so far!

2" coil(Belltech) with a 4" using shackles and hangers(Belltech).
Full sway bar kit (brand - don't know yet)
Edelboch ASI on all fours!

Can you mix shackles and hanger brands?

I have this posted on the other forums too!

Thats the same drop I have on my 96'. Yes, you can mix up brands on the shackles and hangers. I like the Doetsch-Tech drop shocks they are really good brand. The Edledbrocks will stiffen up the ride but not make it uncomfortable.

How many miles, any hardware, what condition, any pics? I will ask my dad if he wants them. How good are the western chassis parts?
