Well its time to make this pig move a little easier
The gear change is going to serve two purpose's..
1- to go faster and
2- to aid in pulling the jeep around..
I do alot or hwy driving (75mph) so i dont want to turn the motor to high for hours on end..
Im rollin on 255/75/17's (touch over 32") and 3.73's right now which put me at about (in OD) 2100rpm @ 75mph rite now..So the 4.30's will put me roughly at 2400rpm and the 4.56's at almost 2600rpm..
I can probably live with the 2600 in OD but im worried about almost 3500rpm in 3rd when pulling up hills with the jeep..
When i had the tbss i pulled 5k up a 6% grade for 3 miles @65mph in 3rd with the convertor locked and that impressed the hell outta me..
Anyhow 4.30's or 4.56's??

4.30's.. im running 4.56's and do alot of mixed driving... also pull a 82 k5 blazer lifted on 38inch boggers to bricks in poplar bluff once a month and i feel 4.30's would do the job just fine... if i were to do it again 4.30's fwiw and i now have 295/70/17 nitto mts, but then again i came from factory 3.42's!!
