help 4l60e reverse works but wont shift in to gears

Default help 4l60e reverse works but wont shift in to gears

was drivin @35 mph went over some train track i heard my engine overreving what could it be couple months ago itook it to a guy he installed shift kit and cluthes i check the oil its red not brown and dosent smell burned what could it be possible the foward sprag? only the reverse works

Will it move in manual first or second? If so, then the sprag is done.

It wont shift in to firt or second manuely so it must be the sprag then?

Its possible that you broke the output shaft where the input planet is. This would only allow reverse. With a sprag failure unless it totally took the forward and over run clutches with it, the trans should still move in the manual ranges as mentioned above. Its possible that you blew the snap ring in the input drum for these clutches as well to cause this issue.

ah ok ,thanks for the info guys ,would yall happen to know why it would break those tranny parts,maybe bad tune to tranny/pressure points? ,or maybe the guy installed parts wrong .

Looking at your sig it says "superchip". My guess would be that with the shift kit and elevated pressure with the superchip this might be your issue. In some cases with a stock stall torque converter and large feed holes this could be an issue as well. Depending on how the trans was set up and the effects of the chip you might want to rethink this some.
