Default Help!! 1999 lowered S-10

i have a lowered s-10 that i just c-notched the frame. There was a Black box attached to the frame that i had to remove. It is attached to the fuel sending unit. Can anyone tell me what this is, can I remove it and leave it off, or should i relocate it?? If I should relocate it, do you have any suggestions as to where? Thanks,
