Default HD cowl hood on a 05 2wd??

I have a 2005 2wd and in the market for a cowl hood. I've seen some 2wd trucks with the big HD cowl hoods. Is there any modifcations to make this hood work on a 2wd truck..?, cuz i definitly want one.. Thanks

Would also have to change out to a 06-07classic grille which is pretty easy. I personaly like the 06-07 hd hood thats why i changed my mind and decided to sell the cowl hood.

Pretty sure the 05 HDs had the hood first, then all 06-07 classics. And another confirmation for needing the grille to go with the hood.

Yea I didnt really think about them but I was just saying the hood isnt hd specific like people think. They had the hood and grille first, but there isnt a 03-04 style hd hood.

And the 05 hd grille has gray mesh and doesnt look as good as the 06-07 grilles.

Actually, No. You do not HAVE TO get the 06-07 grille if you don't really want to. The 06 hood will fit with the 03-05, but there will be a very slight mismatch if you are looking at it from a low angle.

I have had the 06 hood on with the 05 grille. Most people don't notice anything out of the ordinary. Well, they did on my truck because the hood is black and the rest of the truck is orange...

Here is the slight mismatch up close...

Here is the 06 hood with the 05 grille from straight on.

Notice how it overhangs 2 bars of the billet add-on?

From a few feet away it almost isn't noticeable.

There are more pictures of the truck with the 05 hood&grille, 06hood/05grille, and 06 hood&grille in that photobucket album.
