Default Hangers/shackles/springs or flip kit?

I currently have a 2/4 drop, but want to go with a 4/6... just not sure if I should buy some drop springs for the rear, or try to find stock hangers and shackles and do a flip kit. Does it really matter? Will pinion angel be all kinds of jacked if I do the springs? I don't want to have piles of shims if I can avoid it.

im at 4/6 with flip kit, no shims. but i have ecsb, so i have carrier bearing relocator to fix that. you could go with what you said though. of course they say with springs you lose some towing, but years ago i was 3/5 with coils upfront, shackles and leafs in rear. i have a friend selling a set of 3" drop leafs for 180 now. thats half of what they are new

Awesome... I'm not looking to do any towing with the truck anymore - got a 3/4 ton for that now. I know a c-notch is a must - gonna get on that next week. I will hit you up for those springs for sure if I go that route...

Anyone else have some input on lowered leaf springs?

The truck rides great right now with the spindles, shackle, and hanger combo. I'm not too worried about the front - just gonna do lower control arms. The rear springs are what have me concerned.

hanger and shackle uses the stock springs in the stock leaf over axle configuration. It just moves all of the mounting points up. im not sure how it could reduce ride quality.

On the same school of thought, the flip kinda works the same way right? Just moves the mounting of the the axle up. Why would a flip kit effect ride quality? Does it put more or less strain on the springs some how?

i believe a flip kit is pulling on the springs, but when its in the stock location its pushing them up

but i could be wrong..
