i was wondering if anyone with toyo proxes has this same problem i do. i don't daily drive my truck, so it sits for a couple of days and when i hit the highway i have a bad vibration for at least 10 miles. its like the tires have flat spots from sitting, then when they get warmed up they get smoother. anyone else have this problem??? i just wondering if its the tires or something else... tires are proxes st 275/45/20 front and 295/45/20 rear. any help is appreciated

 

I run a 275/60/16 Proxes and i travel alot. so my truck sits for up to 2 weeks at a time.. Never had that problem in the last 3 sets of Toyos..

 

Nope, no problem whatsoever with my proxes. Best tires I've ever had, the ride is awesome.

 

mine sits in the shop for a couple weeks at a time......

thanks for the replys guys, the suspension guy at work said that he has seen it happen before. well i think i have something else wrong then, u joints are good, just had the tires re balanced to make sure, maybe pinion angle?? i got a bad vibration at 70mph and above. i've checked all the suspension bolts, all there and tight. anyone have any susgestions?? belltech 3/4 drop-2inch drop spindles-1inch lowering spring--shackle and hanger on rear. alignment is good.

 

Mine sits for several days at a time as well, and I've never had a problem.

 

when u did the shackles and hangers did you shim the rear axle?

 

yep, i used the shims that came with the kit.. the thicker part of the shim points to the front of the truck, correct??

 

i've changed my thread title, i'm pretty sure i've ruled out the tires.. anyone else ever had a 70mph vibration? any ideas where i should start looking? thanks for any help.......

 

18's here and never a problem. I would think that it is the tires if it goes away with heat in them. Bias ply tires do that. You should ask others with the 20's.
