Default This guys needs a transmission...

I need to order a transmission after mine scattered on the dyno. I have been out of the auto game for a little while.

My trans failure was due to failure of a u joint. The truck makes 321hp 332tq, so it is no race truck. I would like a solid shifting transmission in truck. Sadly the one I had in it was a real good stocker.

Just looking for a little guidance for a reputable company.

Thanks,
Ryan

What happened to the trans when it failed? Did it blow the case apart? Do you plan on any other future mods with this truck?

Broke the case, tail shaft, and tail shaft housing.

It has an lq9 in it with headers and dual exhaust. I plan on a small cam and stall. That will be it for mods on the truck.

Well I guess you have a few options. Depending on who you order a transmission from there might be a core charge.

In your case with FLT there would be a core charge depending on what would be reusable with your unit. I'm guessing from what you have said it is pretty much destroyed. We would most likely charge you for a partial core but would have to see what is good in order to price it out.

You could look for another good working used unit to get back on the road for the time being. Then use this for a core in the future if you have issues with it if need be. You could also buy a unit that is burned up and use it for a core in order to save a few bucks.

Being that you probably need to get a new driveshaft and what ever else was damaged when the drive shaft came loose, you have some decisions to make. Feel free to take a look on our site as to what we have to offer or give us a call. (contact info in sig) Thank you for your time. Vince
