Question Grease fittings

While under my truck (04 GMC) today, I decided to lube the front end. Well....there aren't too many fittings to take care of, any more. One question, how in the hell do ya lube the lower ball joint on a 4x4? There's some kind of strange looking fitting on there.

Even though some ball and socket joints are sealed you can drill and put zert fittings in.

on my 03 the zerks on the lower BJs are angled, so I was able to put a normal gun on them to grease them.
