Default Going from 3.42 to 4.10s Qs...

Ok, Im ready to order some 4.10 gears. Which brand do you guys recommend? I was looking at Superior Axle and Gears: they are around $165 at Summit Racing. (part number SAG-G85410) Are these good? What else do I need for the swap and how much should I pay for the install? Thanks.

I got OEM (AAM/American Axle) gears because I like quality and I like it quiet.

I went with Strange 4.10's.... absolutly no noise..... they say there the best around.....

they are 183$ off www.strangeengineering.net

Make sure you get the master installation kit...... you will need the bearings.... its 89$

and I had my swap done at a shop that has won many racing events..... in the NHRA

I paid 325 + fluids

I say go for OEM, they haven't made a noise yet in my truck. They are definately worth it, your low end will be insane.

Another vote for OEM gears. Have you looked into Motive gears? Who is doing the installation for you?

I might go with some strange which were what I originally wanted to go with, but a friend recomended superior gears. Do I really need the whole installation kit, I read a while back that only bearings needed for swap were two LM603012 and two LM603049? Link: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=LM603012

I wish I could get the master installation kit but Im kinda short on dough right now File I dont know where Im gonna intall them yet. I still got the link you gave me a while back (musclemods). Ill give them a call.

The bearings cannot be replaced..... once pried off.. You will need them and that way the place you take it to wont overcharge you for them.......

I've been told that with the master installation kit you have some bearings and other fittings that don't need to be replaced therefore are leftover. So what exactly do I need for the swap?
