I know its been asked, I have searched, but didnt really see too many people post about their experiences aside from oh I like them.
I currently have 4.10's and factory g80. Well my g80 is screwing up and locking when it shouldnt like idealing in parking lots and trying to slowly pull out of parking lots. I'm going with a Trutrac and plan to change gears also and am torn between 4.30's and 4.56's. I have 22's with 265/35/22 Toyo Proxes. The 4.10's are fine with the 22's to me but of course why not go bigger if I'm changing stuff in the rear while Im at it
. So if you have any experience with either gear please share. I'll also be swapping to a 3200 Circle D stall after the gears.

It reall depends on how much highway driving you do. Iv seem alot if people preach that lower gears kill fuel mileage due to the higher rpms, I beg the differ! I gained 2 mph in my 97 going from 3.42 to 4.10. It's turning a little more rpms, but working less to do the same thing.
I'd say to for it!

Well the truck started as a weekend fun truck, then turned to a daily, and now its back to a weekend truck. So the fuel mileage isnt a huge factor. I mean I dont want to get horrible gas mileage but if it drops 1-2 mpg thats fine. Itd give me more reason to drive like I have some sense rather than playing all the time lol. I know I'm going to drop some with the new cam swap but not wanting to drop 5 mpg between cam, stall, gears swaps .

I went with 4.56s bc i had swapped in a 80e with the long first gear ratio. it helped shortin that up to where i like it. Gas isnt bad to me. But i drive mine more on the weekends.
Only side affect is all the lowend torque. traction is rarely going to work on the street lol!
Makes for some nice burnouts lol. O yeah u have 22s i have just switched to a 17" wheel with 26" tall tires. Ill report back with what i think whithin a few days. Finally got around to installing new trans.

Went up? Thats a first that Ive heard lol. That would definately be a plus .
Yea let me know how you like it with the new trans and tire. Ive been considering rolling some stocks or Ions with around that hight tire during the winter months.

hmm well I guess since Im doing the swap might as well go big. Literally just finished my 03 console swap so guess the gears and locker are next in line.Hopefully I can find someone/some place local in GA that is good with gears. what size tire are you running?

The 4.56 and 3200stall you will def lose a couple mpg. I lost about 2 going to a 3k circleD and I have 4.10 as well. If it's a weekend only truck I would do it. You have a cam? What's the reason for going to the converter? If your cammed match all 3 up and do it right the first time.
