I was curious if the TB SS stall was any different from the standard TB stalls as well, higher stall speed etc...I'm not sure if they are still running the 60E in the SS's or not. I'm sure someone will chime in soon.

Heres some GM TB stall PN#'s I pulled from an old post that I found with a Search.

I've wondered that too. I'm betting that it has a lower stall speed. The reason we get higher stall speeds out of a TB stall is that's it's designed for the torque of a 6 cly and we're giving it a lot more.

I think I saw somewhere that they were using a 70E....don't know what the differences are. I think it was on GM's site.

Get the one from an older straight 6 for the higher stall. The newer sixes may have the same one, but I know the one ending with an 8 will work.

sweet, thanks for the info.so how does getting this stall work again? im not stupid , just a lil confused. the 4.2 has less power so we can raise the stall speed higher because of our motor has more hp?what do they usally stall at with a 5.3? also how will this effect my towing a 5000lb trailer?also regular driving? sorry for all the questions i just need a new converter so i can get my truck back on the road, and i want to go the cheapest but yet get a lil performance out of it .
