Genuine GM 5 Pinion Planetaries?
#1
Looking to rebuild my 4l60e with the 5 pinion planetaries, and have heard that most of the aftermarket units are weaker than the GM 4 pinion planetaries. Been told that I need AC Delco or CK Performance units.
I've seen supposedly new GM/AC Delco units listed on ebay at some fairly attractive prices. Does anyone know how to tell that they are getting genuine GM parts without buying through a GM dealer and having to pay $600 for these?

The cheap aftermarket ones, well they just look cheap. You can obviously tell they are not factory. I can't find any pics, and don't have any of those planets laying around right now. This is just me, but I would stay away from buying on ebay. Stay with a reputable bigger parts supplier. I know Oregon Performance sells a lot of stuff on ebay, and I've used them before with no problems. Or I have a set I could sell you.
