i might sound dumb asking this question. but how hard is it to install a ring and pinion? thanks and dont hate on me im just a beginner to this game.

its not real hard if you have the right tools and have done it before......that being said there is alot of adjustment to be done going with aftermarket grears so if you have never done the swap it might be benificial to pay some one else to do it right and save you a lot of time and headaches....

i think you might need a dial indicator too in order to measure the backlash. sometimes you don't want too much play between both gears because the teeth may clash. i never have done a gear swap, just a Posi swap. that wasn't too bad. i am not sure i would tackle gears if it were my only daily driver. if it is a project i have never done before, i usually do it over a vacation and make sure that i have another vehicle to drive just in case i need materials
