Default gears

i bought a set of 4.10s for the silverado and i have never installed a set of gears. ive seen it done but dont know all the details. and im not going to pay 300 for instalation. so, can any help with the steps of it or a few good pointers.

wow your takin a huge step here if you try this. There is so very little room for error i wouldnt even attempt it unless you have done it several times. You can ruin those new gears quick if you mess up. You also have to have a dial indicator, calipers, possibly a press if you are switching to certain carriers, possibly a bearing remover, and various sockets. $300 is steep, I would check around but if you trust the guy and know he does good work, it might be worth it.

So in a nutshell, dont attempt it if you havent done it before unless you are very mechanically inclined or have somebody to guide you.
