Default Gear thread... 4.10 vs 4.56

Truck is a 06 rcsb 76mm turbo 4.8/4l80e

I tow with it a lot, it currently has 3 23 gears which suck. What would you guys put in it. 4.10 or 4.56? Both with be accompanied by a tru Trac. Truck make 600 rw and has 32" tires. Might go to the track a few times a year with slicks.

3.90's or 4.10's.

I'd think 4.56's is too much when you aren't running a huge tire.

I say 4.56's. I consider a 32" tire to be pretty big.

I agree. 32" tires with a 4.8 needs some gear, especially if you're towing with it.

IMO 4.56 would not be too much gear, but if 4.30 is an option and you are worried about highway RPM it is a viable step between 4.10 and 4.56. My buddy has a cammed 6.0L / 4L80E in his 97 and with 3.90s and 28" tall tires it still feels undergeared. I LOVED the 4.56s I had in my cammed Hemi Ram with the same diameter tire.

4.56 on that combo IMO. I run a 4.10 on 28" tires.

If you tow and since its a Turbo with 32 " tire Id do the 3.90-4.10 tow in 3rd ...... too much gear with a turbo is not what you want IMO
