Default Gear Swap - Axle Bearings

When swapping Ring and Pinion, should I replace axle bearings? They have a little over 42k miles on them?

I was thinking that I wouldnt need to replace them. But when I called for a quote, the installer asked if I had the replacement bearings. I have the complete install kit minus the axle bearings.

On a side note, I was thinking that a R&P change would not take more than 6 hours. Every place I talked wanted to keep the truck for a least a day and a half. I guess to mask the cost of the install. Can you believe they want $350 to change it out?
