Default Gear Change vs. Computer Flash???

Hey all, I went from having a 30" tire overall diameter on my sierra to a 33" tire overall. Now pulling a trailer with a one stock suck isnt fun. Would I be better off switching from 3.73's to 4.10's, or just getting the computer reflashed to calibrate for the bigger wheels. Any opinions are welcome, thanks

cory

id say if you plan to keep the 33s on your truck then go to the 4.10s... if your gonna be jumping back and forth between sizes stick wit the 3.73s

and you should def get your tire size changed in your truck... your speedo will be off, one nice thing though is you wont rack up as many miles

adjusting the tune for your bigger tires won't make the truck "adjust to the tires." the only thing that will be changed is that your speedo will be corrected. Right now it's 10% off so if your speedo says 70 mph you're really doing 77

I would change the gears and then get the computer changed for the gear/tire size. Also, if you run a bigger tire without a flash your truck will shift in diff spots than it would if it was caliberated for that tire size.

so should I just start with the flash and see where that takes me. It more a less when cruising around 60 mph, with a 6x10 enclosed trailer, it doesnt want to pull any faster. I have to rev the crap out of the motor to downshift to bring it to 65. before hand it never had this. It must be the shift point.

ya you need more gear then cause the taller tires... like Random said, readjusting your comp wont do anything but accomadate for the taller tire size. right now your racking up less miles than you actually should and your speedo is off, thats it

that being said to adjust that put a set of 4.10s in if you plan to stick with them tires
