Default G80 is gone...now?

Ok, so I just blew the g80 and am debating on swapping gears as well. My question is what would you all recommend? I have 3.73s, should I stay with them or swap them out?

Not a daily, just weekend street truck, goals right now is to get it up and going lol, but not sure keep going back and forth with turbo ideas and 370/390. That will be if I keep it and on down the road expecting a kid and not looking to spend that much right now.

How'd you bust it? Carnage pics?

If it's a weekend truck, I would go with 4.10 or 4.56. I would probably lean to the 4.56 to help with the tall first gear the 80E has.

when my g80 went i swapped to 4.10's. even made a cross country trip with it and it did not make a big difference in fuel mileage or driveability.

I think you'd like the performance gain of a gear swap. 4.56's are not out of line for your truck either, but you'll need sticky tires to hook up.

I'll have carnage pics up soon.

4.56s scare me it's hard enough to get traction with the 3.73s with the Nittos and assassin bars.

On street tires, I could blow the tires off(drag radials) at 60 MPH with 4.10's (similar setup as yours). Would be worse with 4.56's. At the track, with good tires, it would be great. On street tires, you need the "driver mod" to go fast.

Well ordered a ValueTrac and 4.10s

Ended up getting a Duragrip and 4.10s.

Anyone here have a Duragrip? If so, how well do you like it and how does it compare to the TrueTrac?
