Default G80 failure pics

well, it aint much, but it was enough to put OOC for a while.
after putting the pieces together it looks like my failure was a result of to much high speed wheel spin. i.e. the stock GovLock only works to about 30mph (I believe, but it is low); I was in the neighborhood of 70-80mph of wheels spin, which translated into a one wheel peel, at speed, or through alot of second gear, this, in turned, caused the gauling, that caused the failure. btw, one of those gears is welded on lol
Clutch Pack and all other parts look to be in fantastic shape! Go Figure

here are the pics:

I wonder if someone would be interested in a lightly used G80? if I buy the replacement parts it might be worth a few bucks.....hmmm

no problem at all.

I honestly was expecting this noisy *** beast, it just isn't there so far, I even did some U-turns and low speed manuevers. The strength is without question from everyone I've talked to, so we'll see.

Did you do the install yourself? I'm getting ready to install my Eaton, but I just can't decide wether to do it myself, or just pay someone to do it, and I'll know it's really right. I've never really much messed with rears, but I have a friend that does this stuff in his sleep, with PLENTY of years of experience. I'm leaning toward paying someone to do it.

It would have cost me more to buy the tools needed to do the job than it did to pay someone to get everything installed. So thats what I did.

After 20 MPH it will not engage. I am rebuilding my old G80 for a spare or resale too. I wasted the drive gear for the Gov-Lok assy, cracked the entire gear in half. I shredded the Gov-Lok flyweight/governer assy and broke the tabs off the clutch pack steels.

The Gov-Lok is definitely NOT setup to handle power, even in the 11.5.
