Default g80 axle problems please help

I just recently purchased a 99 silverado extended cab 5.3. I noticed vibration in the rear. I brought the truck home and put it on jackstands and noticed what i thought to be a warped rim. I changed the rim to the spare same problem so it has to be the axle or the rotor ? I have had many trucks did a lot of crazy stuff but never a bent rear. So what im getting at is whats the interchange can i get an axle out of non posi truck if so what years? the posi is making a little noise when it enguages is that normal? What should i do?

Any 8.6 10 bolt rear open carrier should bolt right. I'd get a True-Trac while you were back there though, if money allows.

I would switch the rotors (left to right) and see if the same one still does it. If its the same one, the axle is bent. If it stays on that side, its the rotor.

Sounds like you have an axle with a bent flange. I see this alot up here, somebody swings the rear out on a slick corner, and POW, sideways into a curb. Often looks like a bent wheel, but is actually the axle flange. Like QLF said, any 8.6" 10 bolt rear axle shaft will do the job for you.

I'm thinking bent axle also, in order for the rotor to be warped to cause the wheel to wobble it would have to be thicker at one of the points where it mounts to the hub, or have some massive rust buildup between it and the hub...highly unlikely scenarios IMO.
