Default G80???

Can someone explain to me the differences between the regular limited slip and the G80?? I may be able to get one for free so I want to know if its worth it or if I should buy an aftermarket posi. THANKS!!!

From what I hear I would go with an aftermarket one, I don't know if it would be worth it to pay for the install and have to pay again if it breaks. I hear the G80s don't hold up too well.

Read this article, it should help you out. Keep in mind that the G80 is called a Gov-lock(G/L) in the article.

Definetely go with a aftermarket posi... Most of the guys around here joke that the G in G80 stands for Grenade. I think the difference between the eaton aftermarket unit and the g80 are toughness and i think that if you are above 20mph the g80 will not lock..

How many people here have actually grenaded a G80? All I know of is James B.

A couple of people around here have.. a buddy of mine has been through two of them.. hes hard on trucks though..

that didn't look like much, it grenaded? did it take anything out?
