Default Full lowering kits..

So im looking to lower the truck soon.. and ive read **** here and there about it..but still dont understand everything.. i know that im either going to get a 3/5 or 4/6 id like to buy a full kit to do everything front and rear...

i was lookin around on stylin and see thats there McGaughys, Belltech, Ground Force and DJM... whats the differnce between all the kits?

im looking for the best possible/closest to stock ride..i may tow with it down the road but thats something ill worry about later cuz i doubt i will tow with it anytime within the next year or so

so whats the best kit to get?

thanks!....after readin some reviews.. McGaughys is rated a 3.2 outta 5.. belltech is rated 4.9 outta 5... anyone have to add to that?

oh and ive seen **** about one kit having 16+ wheels the other with 17+ wheels.. whats that all about?... drink on

For the front components Belltech and McGaughy’s are almost identical. The rear flip and notch are a different story. If you go that route the Belltech is a little more beefed up since there are two large pieces that sandwich the rear frames and additional pieces for the bed cross member but they are much more expensive for the added material. I don’t know much about the DJM but I know plenty of people use them. Only complaint on this end is the turning radius.

by turning radius im guessing it makes it worse, is there a kit that doesnt affect the radius? tho im not sure i care if it is changed.

The newer kits are supposed to have better geometry so you dont lose turning radius.
Both belltech and mcgaughy are similar. i have belltech and am happy with the kit, i have springs though

wudda mean by you have springs? as in lowering springs? does it make it ride better than stock ones or something?

I lowered the front with belltech drop springs, its not as smooth as it used to be, it rides like my camaro did.
I would look for threads by dezert1500, he is the drop guru. If you have a gmfullsize acounnt he post's up alot there. he has a static 6/10 drop on a RCSB by the way

Depends on what you want to deal with. I only have personal experience with DJM, not the others. To go that low with belltech or mcguaghys you will have to use spindles and springs. Springs will give you a stiffer ride, and the spindles have been said to increase turning radius, but I have heard you can do a little grinding to fix this. With DJM you can use lower control arms and keep the stock springs. This will give you a stock like ride, but some complain about bumpsteer. Personally I haven't noticed this to be a problem. Others also complain about not being able to get it aligned properly and have negative camber. However, this is not always the case, and I don't have this problem. For the rear they are all pretty much the same except for the notches, belltechs surrounds the frame the most, then mcgaughys, then DJM, but if installed correctly you shouldn't have problems with any of them.

Basically it depends on what you want to deal with as for side effects.
