I would go with a yank, seems like they have the less issues for the $...

Vig does sell a single disk set up for around $700.

I just Installed my TC last night. Got it from Red star performance. its a 2500-3000 stall, more like 3000. So far its awesome, we'll see how it holds up in the long run. But for only 250.00 its a pretty damn good deal.

It's the same old deal - ask 100 people about something and get 100 different answers. I've heard and read that people have issues with Yank honoring warranties. I've also hear and read where people don't have a problem with Yank honoring them. So who knows.

Just an update...I talk to John (Fuddle) and he said he thinks it's the Pulse Width Modulation causing the chattering. He asked if it was ever tuned out, and honestly, I can't remember, but I don't think it was. When I initially had the truck tuned, I had the stock converter. The second tune I got was because I got the cam - still had the stock converter at that point too. The only other tune was sent via mail to compensate for the A/F ratio being off. So I'm really hoping the problem is just the PWM.

I still have no complaints about John, his product, or his service. He was extremely helpful, and gave me my options to rectify the problem (try a tranny additive to increase viscosity, have the PWN tuned out if it isn't already, and the more expensive route - install a shift kit). He did say to check the front of the converter for burn marks in the paint which would be indicative of burnt clutch material. He said if it was burnt, then he would definitely honor the warranty.

So, hopefully the problem isn't as severe as I thought.

I called John when my Fuddle TC crapped out. He said send it in for a warranty repair/replacement. I have yet to send it in because I don't need it yet. I think he will fix yours for free. Run it and save for the Vig, then sell the Fuddle.

I got my converter in the mail today from John. He does supply great service, and always answers questions very well. I had been recommended to go to him before and decided it was worth any risk that some people may say there is. I know he sticks to his warranty, so im not too worried. Keep us updated on if you get the problem fixed/discovered. Interested in hearing the result.
