Question Front axle breather hose spewing gear oil?

Front axle on my 2002 Z71 appears to have a breather tube/hose that is mounted to driver's side inner fenderwell, under the hood.

Can anyone tell me why it may be suddenly spewing gear oil out? Or what I should check?

I noticed the gear oil in the tire side of the fenderwell and traced it back to the breather tube.

Is the breather plugged and backing up? Usually when it gets overfilled or really dirty they start to do that too.

I serviced all fluids about a month or so ago, and this evidently just started happening very recently. The gear oil looks to be coming out of the little plastic cap that keeps dirt and debris out of the line.

I'm going to see if I can get a picture of exactly what/where I am referring to.

Remove your front diff vent connector from the diff. You'll see a "pendulum" on the inside. It may be sticking, meaning, not hanging straight down, after you screw it back into the differential. If it is at the wrong angle, the parts spinning inside the differential may push fluid straight into it, and out your vent hose.

I'll give that a look and see. Unfortunately, we are getting some unexpected snowfall at the moment, which leaves my driveway repairs on hold.

I get some fluid out of my front breather at times also...I think that I remember something about a TSB for a different breather port that presses into the diff, but I'm not 100% sure...
