Four wheel drive problem

Four wheel drive problem
I have a 2002 Silverado K1500, with the push buttons on the dash. auto 4x4, 2 hi, 4 hi, 4 lo. In 4 hi the front axle locks but the transfer case does not turn the driveshaft so I have only 2wd. But if I put it in automatic I have 4x4. The chevy dealership showed no codes. Said to clean ground on frame. This did not help. Any answers?
