Default Flywheels!!!!!

Ok Apparently Flywheel Out Of Silverado Is Not Interchangeable With Ls1 Engines?! I Have A 4.8 And I Am Putting A T56 In. I Have A Fidenza For A Ls1 But It Will Not Work. Starter Will Not Line Up. Apparently Crank Shaft Is Different. If Anyone Knows Of A Flywheel For This That Is Light Weight Let Me Know Please!!!!

1trueSS used a ls1 style fly wheel according to his website parts list. Maybe the 4.8 with the nv3500 has a different crankshaft and flywheel?

I flywheel out of a 98-03 from an LS1 should work. I think you have to get a new clutch as well but I am not completly sure. I think if you pick up a stock clutch for a LS1 you can get a new flywheel and new clutch.

I have a stock LS1 steel flywheel that will not work due to the crank. The starter will not match up. I am going to try out my stock flywheel for the truck. However my clutch, pressure plate and slave cyl for a T56 looks as though it will work. Waiting on bellhousing so I can put it all together. If all goes well, the only other problem that I may run into is the reverse lock out.

Ok here is the deal the ls1 fly wheel wouldn't fit due to the crank shaft was too big, also the fly wheel wouldn't clear the housing for the starter. I have used a stock flywheel for my truck with a ls1 clutch and you also need to have a spacer on the bell housing for the t56 because it will never bolt up correctly with out one. The trucks manual's bell housing is like a 1/2 inch longer than in a t56, so I am going to have to look for someone to make a spacer for it, or look for a longer bell housing put out for a t56. Not really sure yet, haven't started it because I haven't gotten the wiring done yet. Also, still waiting on my driveshaft. The change in length of drive shaft is four inches shorter than stock. We will see.....
