i'm pretty sure i have dex-6 in mine too. no problems so far...

 

i also plan on running the 6 once i put in my stall. not sure what is in there now as i am the second owner and this will be my first fluid change.

 

I've ran 6 ever since I rebuilt my tranny.

 

Well, I'm running Dexron VI now also.

 

I dont think they make Dexron 3 anymore.... i could be wrong.... but eventualy everyone will run out of dexron 3 and everyone will be running 6. Thats what i was told. Has anyone else heard this?

 

I run Mercon V because its free out of the drum at work

 

Bumping this back up. Valvoline Dex 6 is working great for me!

 

I think either way you went it woulda worked just fine, i use mobil merc/dex

 

Good to hear that it's still working out for you Roger...I think that as long as you can keep your output shaft in one piece you'll be OK though

 

I know FLT is using dex III, but have there been any failures due to running dex VI?

I believe Dex VI fluid is lighter viscosity though, as it isn't recommended in the T56 trans like Dex III was so I dont know if that would lead to problems in other transmissions too? I wonder if switching from Dex III to dex VI if your stall speed might change since the viscosity is different? just thinking out loud


so FLT do you recommend conventional or synthetic Dex III and which brand do you guys use?
