Default Flex Plate Scatter Shield

I am looking to find a SFI approved flexplate shield for the new bellhousing bolt pattern (I.E. Gen III). Can anyone tell me where to find one? All the speed shops have told me to get the regular chevy one and modify it. I really don't think it is nessesary, but the sanctioning body does. Funny thing is Friday night at Cordova Dragway's Fast and the Furious night some guy in a V-8 S-10 shattered his ring gear in the flexplate. This was the first time I had ever actually been present when one let go. Thanks for any input.
