i will admit when i tore into mine today i was disapointed. i thought it had the G86 which is a true posi like in te TBSS but found out i hada G80...hope this holds up to the new setup

For future reference, there are two things considered to be "beating a dead horse":
1. Defending and/or promoting the strength and reliability of the 10-bolt rear.
2. Defending and/or promoting the strength and reliability of the 4L60/65/70-E.
Why bother...

A stock GM tranny wasn't designed for an added 100+ HP/TQ that we place through them from our modifications. The tranny is fine, you just need to upgrade it as we do the engine to be reliable.

If you know how to use a 10 bolt it will last in mild apps, but just like anything else it has its limits. I dont think there is aneed to upgrade to a 14 bolt in a 4wd unless you are pushing a major amount of hp or plan on offorading alot. I plan to do both later on so Im upgrading.
