Seems B&M makes a shifter cable bracket for these trans as well. From their description they seem to be fairly universal. Has anyone used one of these?

Some notes from my almost done swap.
CHECK YOUR TRANSMISSION when you get it from the junk yard. My first one had a twisted output shaft. Second one had likely been in a vehicle fire, was missing all the electronics and the internal to external connector was burned. I had to have the shop install a new wiring harness connector which was like $70 just for the connector. So far the transmission seems ok, but only time will tell. I only have a 90 day warranty on the transmission so I hope to get this up and running asap to have time to make sure there are no other issues with the transmission.
The 1500HD lines kind of work...if you have an auxiliary cooler. Mine just had the radiator on it.
The transfer case on a truck with 140k miles will most likely be kind of buggered up near the clip area of the oil pump. While my clip did not break, the case was ground down from the movement to the point where it needed a new case per the transmission guy...he had not reason to say this as he did not sell me the part, I ordered it but I saw where it was extremely thin and almost worn through.
The front shaft from the any 04-09 diesel 6 speed trans should work. Here are the list of compatible vehicles:

Midwest Trans was great about getting parts out in quick order with reasonable shipping. The part quality was very good. I got the input shaft for the t-case, case half and case saver from them.
If you have any kind of lift and you order the crossmember from dirt track racer on here, know that there will be one bolt on each side missing from the front crossmember support. He is aware of the problem now. In the end it was not a major issue as both sides have 3 bolts, so it was only missing one bolt on each side. I do plan on welding in a spacer with a nut though so that the final bolt on each side can be put back in. Fit on the crossmember was otherwise perfect and it was a very nice crossmember. He did everything in his power to get it out to me despite the weather he was having to deal with. I give him an A+ overall in service, fit and finish.
The truck will drive with the plug unplugged. I just drove home (3 miles) in this manner as the shop was just used to swap the trans since the truck hit the roof of my car port when jacked up even an inch. I basically had 1 forward gear, reverse, neutral and park. I was limited to about 25-30 mph and was told to take it easy so as to not heat the transmission fluid up too much.
Rear driveshaft was cut 1 11/16th" as suggested by this thread and fit perfect. Cost locally was like $80.
At this point I just have to wire it and it is done. Might have a buddy who deals with automotive wiring help me out. Hope this helps someone in the future.

nice thread. Thank you for taking the time to write this. Quick qs.
1. I will be swapping a ls with 4l80e as well but from a 92, so it is from 700r4. I got the whole trans with transfer case from the 4l80. What else do i need if i plan to use the 4l80e transfer case? DO i need to change the yoke as well?
2. I heard that some people use dirty dingo adapter and it is adjustable that you can actually utilize the stock driveshaft. How reliable is that info?
3.How hard is it to modify the crossmember?
