Swapped a 2005 rear axle assembly with drum brakes to my 2002. Now I can run 15" steel or aluminum wheels with as much back space as I want. I'm going to use 15x10" wheels with 30x10.5" slicks for the strip. For the street I'm going to use BFG drag radials 315/60R15 which are 29.8" tall and have a 11" tread. Everything was a perfect swap for bolting up. You just have to use short cab to short cab or extcab to extcab rear-ends because the park brake cables are different lenghts. Haven't driven it yet to see if it needs anything to balance the braking from front to rear. Probably will need a proportional valve and a residual valve in the line to the rear.

With your 3.73 gearing I would go with teh BFG 325/50/15 that is 28" tall with a 12" tread. I ran these with 15x10's and they fit and hooked perfect. I went thru the traps at 4800-4900rpm.
This would be much better for your higher revving 5.3.

Yeah with drum rears you can run 15" rims that will allow you ALOT more slick choices.
Good deal on the Jesels I cancelled my order for the Jesels I was going to get and put that money towards my new nitrous kit. I think Im going to end up with the same ones you have when I do my next round of mods.
