Default DR's or Slicks W/a 10 bolt?

How many of you guys are running either with a stock 10 bolt? How has it held up to the abuse?

Ive ran both, if you have the stock G-80 diff AKA the Grenade-80 dont expect it to last long... It can go at anytime!!

If you have an after market LSD you should be just fine depending on how much power you are planting (700+ RWHP)

A 5.3 with a lightened crank, shot peened and beburred rods, cleaned up stock pistons with nitrous rings, 2.5 heads, 224/581 cam, ls6 intake, 250 shot, th400 w/3600 stall. I plan on spraying 100-150 of the line depending on traction. Just kinda looking to see how long they usually last.

Ive sprayed my 125 off the line a couple times and nothing broke. Then again I have a Detroit Tru Track LSD Unit.

My setup was a 6.0 with TR224 cam, on the Juice it put down a little over 500 to the tires.

Make sure your fueling is dead on and you have enough timing retarded to spray that shot. Id be worried about the stock pistons holding that shot. Ive seen a few 200 hits on stock pistons but not a 250.

Yeah we are going to try and push the 5.3 records and the 4wd records. As far as the tune goes im pretty **** about that. I am wanting to run DRs all the way around but cash is pretty short after the engine, trans and transfer case builds so I think im going to run some slicks on the stock rims and keep it in 2wd.

DR's are fun on the street. What size tire are you looking at getting? BTW launching in 4hi with DR's on all four tires will hook really well.

Is it at all possible to remove the G80 before going to the track? If you launch in 4wd without the G80 the 10 bolt should hold up OK. You can see sub 1.7 60's with street tires in 4hi. You will have more problems with sticky tires in 2wd.
