Default Drop

I have a 4/6 djm drop. I have on my truck now a beltech 3/4 (coils in the front hangers and shackles in the back) The hangers are staying when I switch kits. My question has anyone run the 4" lowering control arms int he front with 2" lowering spindles. In the back I was thinking of keeping the shackles with the hangers and the flip kit. Would this be too low to for some 20X8.5 rims? and about how low to the ground would that be?

You can't use spindles and LCA's together. Shackles/hangers and a flip kit would be 10" if it were even possible.

a 6/8 will be way too low. Especially with a tiny tire, you will bottom out ALL THE TIME. If you drive nothing but brand new roads with no speed bumps that's about the only way you can get away with it.

I had mine lowered 5/8 with a 255/35/20, so effectively its a 7/9 and scrapes ALL THE TIME. I've got the back up to 6 now and its not bad but the front still sucks. I'll be going to a 3/4 as soon as i have the time. Right now the protective cover over my oil pan is about 2 inches off the ground.

With a 4/6 and a 275/35/20 tire, the lowest part of mine is about 3.5" off the ground. No way I would go another 2". A good many people do run 4/7 or 4/8 drops though with minimal problems.

I have always heard you can't mix control arms and spindles, but never heard an actual reason why.
