well I have had mine ran up to around 140+ before and never gotten any vibes from my ext cab driveshaft with the carrier bearing and all... I think GM sometimes "accidentally" balances them right I may just end up being one of the lucky ones when it comes to that... either way, I'd like to have mine re-balanced for more high speed use. I see over 100mph fairly regularly so I'd like to have a little better piece of mind before I get castrated by a steel tube!!!!!

Don't forget you also lowered it some File. I know that changes your pinion angle. That's probably part of the vibrations. I noticed mine vibrating when I went to 4.10's at about 100mph also and installed 4 deg. shims but it still vibrates some. It does it a little bit then goes away at some point past 100mph so the shims did helped me some.

doh I was gonna mention alot of things that cause the vibration, but since i didn't see lowering and only a gear swap I just stuck with what appeared to be obvious. Shimming is certainly a helper if you changed your driveline angle.

I did lower it before I put the 4.10's but the pinion did not need to be chimmed. What do you all suggest to correct this. I really don't go that fast on my truck specially when my family is with me but it really bother's me it does this at high speeds. Should I send my shaft to get balanced?

you need to check your driveline, pinion angles first, and go from there

I have to agree with checking these idems. Also would look into getting a good HD steel driveshaft. If you have lowered your vehicle the driveshaft might have to be shortened as well.

I have 4.56's. Haven't notice any vibration at 125 mph. Worries me though and a custom shaft is on the list, along with brakes.

2006 Crew Cab 4x4s had a recall on their drive shafts, they replaced mine with a complaint and 100 MPH and no Vibe issues at all (in fact smoother then my blown 1996 monte at 10 mph). Check with the dealer and see if there was a product improvment on yours.

LOL , I just re-read this and for the life of me don't understand what the hell I was trying to say
