I used TX DS specialist to straighten and install new 3R joints and high speed balance my stocker. They are great. They told me a 3.5" steel shaft would work for my needs when the time came. I was thinking chrome moly would be nice!! Dennys, drive shaft shop, or PST(precision shaft tech) are other good choices.

DST is recommending a 5" aluminum shaft. They weren't sure if a 1410 yoke was available for my 9.5" rear. My driveshaft loop is starting to look puny!

That's not a bad price at all for a bulletproof DS. Any idea as to how much less parasitic loss there is compared to a steel shaft?

They quoted me $608 plus shipping complete. That was with 1350 joints. Mine will probably end up somewhere around 62-64" according to their measuring guide.

Then why not go steel? Seems like they can be had for about half the price, and don't need to be as large in diameter.

Critical speed is more dependant on diameter than material. Speed wise you are better off with a large diameter, and al is fine strength wise
