Default Driveshaft Gurus Welcome 1 piece or 2 piece AWD Truck

So i finished up my build a few weeks ago, and im still stuck babying the hell out of her because i skipped one step which was my driveshaft.

When we got her tuned, my tuner mentioned he made several 100+mph pulls but im afraid its a matter of time before the DS snaps.

Its an AWD crew cab with a 6l80.
I know a lot of 2wd guys just use the 2 piece steel off an extended cab nbs, but im trying to see if anyones ever done it on a 4wd nnbs 2 piece conversion.

My trucks pretty low, and i want to be able to launch it without worrying and also bag it soon so a 2 piece is the way im looking to go, but dont want to go custom just yet unless anyone might know something i dont.

have you looked into a thicker material one piece? the stock aluminum is pretty thin. i blew 2 stock driveshafts on my old truck before going with a beefier one piece but that was also a 2wd truck. i had found a thicker one piece to replace the stock one for the awd that im probably going to swap to once i get more power going thru the drivetrain. ill look for it and send you a link so you can check it out.
with the driveshaft of the awd/4x4 trucks being shorter i would think it would be ok to stay one piece but im no expert on the matter. i wonder what the single cab/2wd guys are doing for this topic? less weight but similar rotation speeds id say.

here ya go. i believe these are the same guys i bought from before and the build quality was very nice

FYI driveshaftspecialists use the same wall thickness on their aluminum driveshafts

Man that looks pretty good.
Im definitely going to consider it, 500 bucks doesnt seem bad at all, considering i can install myself.

Do you know if the O.D. is the same as our stock ones? I see it says 4".
I just want to be sure to i dont go with a bigger O.D. since i dont rub the shaft now, but i dont want to run into that issue later once i bag it.

The single cab guys run the stock aluminum as far as i know, i did see a buddy with an LSA swapped single cab actually snap his single piece steel this week.

its been awhile since ive gotten under there and actually looked at the driveshaft so i dont exactly rememeber. i do rememeber the 2wd driveshaft starting off at about 4 inches and flaring out to like 5 or so inches in the middle section of the stock unit, so at the very least i would think the awd aluminum driveshaft starts off at 4 inches.

Yeah i might take a dial caliper to mine tonight, i was under it over the weekend, and figured 4".
I contacted that seller on ebay and he stated the shaft is rated for 550whp.. not bad.

Funny story, after some beers friday night, we decided at like 10pm to go to the track and get some runs in.. honestly she didnt skip a beat. Probably wont do that again anytime soon, but i was just egging to finally run her lol.

Yea what happen?

Also I've beat the hell out of my stock steel ds. I've had it off and balanced, joints replaced chasing some vibrations . Mines prob the shortest though being standard Yukon I had local guy shorten it for 4l80 to get back on the road asap. Done 1.6-1.7 60s , been triple digits a few times
