weld brackets to the frame right before the evap crap then get some good tubing and use flat plate to hold the carrier.

I'm not familiar w/. that name u mention, driveshaft specialist.
Denny's is 1 beside those listed. While there may be others, a good group is what we both list below. See my reply below for other places too.

Most of the extended cabs had 2 piece shafts in them and lots of places build the shafts like that.
What kinda combination u puttin together?
And yes, critical speed changes when goin to a higher gear in back too. I gather u probably found that out or knew it if lookin at a high end purpose built d/s.

Those are the big hitters there.

That's the ballpark cost as I found out awhile back when I asked. Also, Dynotech & DTS. Not sure if DTS makes a C/F vers., but I know Dynotch does. I **** when I heard cost, but they don't save alot of weight when u add in the alum. yokes that get fitted & mated up w/. the carbon shaft. If they were $750-850, I mighta sprung for C/F. A few reasons I didn't, in no order:
1) cost
2) if I go to an 80E, then I have a spare $1000+ 60E style C/F shaft that can't be modded to work on 60E, cause u can't cut the carbon I was told.
3) if C/F grenades, it turns into expensive little carbon dust! that's a biggie too!
4) weight diff. not as dramatic as what some would lead u to believe.

If I had an 80E, the different tranny argument needs shaft shortening, is out the window.

Capable of more & stuck at lower than u think (& what others say) sounds familiar. Hope you're not dealing w/. newfound traction issues too.

Just a wild guess. It's probably not a motor holding u back, as these LS's are stout. Tranny perhaps (6xE)?

If you've been thru 3 stk. shafts, isn't that costin u time & $ just to replace stockers? Not tryin to be a dick, just wonderin. But if like me, 2 things usu. hold up my ideas, $ is usu. 1st, then time.

drag radials would cure the traction problems. 1st gear is useless. it's a 6l80e, so no the trans isn't holding me back by any means right now. maybe the stock converter, but not for mid to high 12's.

it's more money than time.

so after emailing a bunch of companies no one makes a one piece driveshaft that long for ext NNBS. So what do yall suggest? is it that hard to run a 2 piece and weld a carrier bearing in place?
