Google the part number 42298b and it will show up. The us pat number brings it up as well.

I just spoke with someone who confirmed the part number and us pat. He told me theere was an issue with a change in design causing the shells to break thus also causing a recall. He is sending me a new beast in exchange for the old one. Customer service at its best!

I was pissed because when I had the transmission rebuilt I had it replaced with performance clutches, bands, and the beast sunshell. I am sure I lost a band. So I limped over to my transmission shop and the guys jumped on it right away. I got a call today with some weird news. They said the sunshell was broke almost like someone cut it. The owner said he never seen "The Beast" destroyed before. I am hoping that it was a defect because I am sure I don't make enough power to break one. I do have a shift kit and vette servos. I also have torque management turned off and the shift points changed. Does anyone have any idea how it may have broke?

Found your problem

If your breaking the tires loose on a 1-2, imagine the stress the transmission sees tryin to do that.
Change the pressures down just a lil where the 1-2 is more of a bump instead of breaking the tires loose.

That is why I had the transmission rebuilt in the first place. To handle punishment.

WOW! These heavy trucks put a lot of strain on the trans, esp when the tires break loose during a WOT shift. This is only the 2nd Beast I've seen get destroyed- the other being a SC Av that took a beating.

When I had my trans built I put the Beast in too just for security measure. I hope mine doesn't break like that, but it's good to know they have great customer service if it ever does.

Your truck should not be spinning on the 1-2 shift. The only reason I could see them spinning is if you have the shift pressures WAY too high. Just because the tranny is built doesn't mean you should turn everything up to the max. Your truck is bone stock practically, so I blame the tuning/shift kit setup honestly.
