Default Damaged NEW Tru-Cool Max?

I picked up a Tru-Cool Max off ebay. When I received it, I opened the box and found the fins banged up pretty good where the hardware was sitting on top of it. I know it will eventually get banged up from road debris, but this is a brand new cooler, never installed. Has anyone else received theirs this way? I was expecting one of the sides to be banged up because one the edges of the box was & had tape ALL over it. Need opinions, send it back or just install it? BTW, this thing is HUGE.

Put it under pressure and see if it leaks. If it does, send it back and tell them it arrived broken. If it doesnt leak then it should be fine. I dented mine a bit when I installed it, but it works fine.

+1. Doesn't look like it'll leak. Just looks like someone dropped it or something. You can straighten them up a lil with a small knife if you want but it'll work fine

Ah...didn't think about putting pressure to it.
Thanks for the help.

i ordered mine from the guy on ebay from Oregon performance trans too and mine came with a couple dings like that, but nothing too major. i used a small screwdriver to straighten them out.

Just installed mine, got it off ebay too. Had a few little dings in the fins but i staightened them and it works like a champ! 150 degree tranny temps in stop and go traffic when its 100 outside.

We get them in like that sometimes from our suppliers. They should box them better. I think you will be alright. Just pressure test like mentioned. Good Luck!!

guess trucool doesn't want to spend the $$ to put cardboard over the fins to protect them in transit.....most highend radiator shops do that to protect their product
