Back on my old 99' I had the dealership replace it under warranty with the Nickel coated version. Fixed it right up.

suposedly you can coat it in grease and it will work, mine has the same damn thing! very annoying, haven't tried the grease thing yet.

Is this the same as the drivetrain slack when starting off on the 96-99 tahoes? That is a problem with them that I have noticed. I have driven at least a dozen that does it.

yea the bulletin said the revision was nickel coated. if you say it fixed it, i'll go ahead and buy one and slap it on there.

yea i hate having that clunk noise. makes it feel like a piece of crap. if i wanted clunks and rattles i'd buy a dodge. LOL.

also, it didnt start doing it untili got a little bit of mud under it at my friend's deer lease for the first time. i'll try greasing it again before i replace it.
